Arleen Jennings came to speak at our Ladies Tea in March. Many of the women present were in the midst of reading her book on creativity. We were all blessed by the words that she shared with us that night on how we were made to be creative and the need to practice our creativity. Several times through out her talk I could feel that it wasn't Arleen speaking but the Spirit of God through her. The message was exactly what we needed to hear and met us on a personal level right where we are at. Arleen would tell stories of her journey to creativity that were very touching and I appreciated the way she was willing to take the risk and reveal her heart to us. We all were ministered to that night.

Arleen Jennings was our guest speaker for our Fall Weekend Retreat. Friday evening she laid a foundation with truths from God's Word and how these truths had worked into and through her life's experiences, especially in the hard times. Her delivery was very similar to that of Beth Moore's if you're familiar with her Bible Studies.

Saturday morning she encouraged us to use our God-given, creative talents as part of God's design to give us an outlet for the stresses of life as well as our own need to create because we are, after all, children of 'The Creator.' There are many reasons God created us to be creative. I encourage you to read Arleen's book and discover for yourself God's message for us about creativity. Arleen is not only a good author who has overcome reading difficulties as well as other life challenges, but is also a gifted speaker with a special anointing of the Lord on her.        Katie  ~ Wellsville Full Gospel Women's Retreat      11/07

Stress? Challenges? Painful Situations? God frames our healing with creative outlets. Arleen Jennings energizes the subject of creativity by exploring a multitude of opportunities to grow more like our Creator. Her teaching displays the wisdom of her walk with God and her family with an overflowing exuberance and anointing. While many of the participants had personal prayer, one woman relaxed in the back row and noticed that her feet were tingling. She didn’t think anything more until the next morning when she realized that pain she had suffered since a childhood injury was gone, and she had not even asked for healing! Many amazed women remarked, “This was one of the best retreats I’ve ever attended!”          Patty ~ Wellsville Full Gospel Women's Retreat    11/07

I have just finished reading your book and would like to order some copies.  Now that I've read through your book once rather fast to see who would benefit the most from a copy, I want to go through it again and take lots of notes. I'm around women everyday that need encouragement and I liked the way you continually used the scriptures. May the Lord bless you with more great ideas, maybe even another book!!        Arlene ~ Olney, MD

Wow!!!  My dad gave me your book the other day.  I was SO excited.  I'm about to start Chapter 4 but wanted you to know that I was having a very frustrating evening last night and was sitting on my couch crying over a current project.  I picked up the book and started up where I left off – God's timing is so perfect.  I began to read about not putting pressure on yourself with unrealistic timelines or expectations.  God began to minister to me.  I can't wait to read the rest of the book!!!   Tabitha ~ Graphics Design Artist,  Shannon, MS

I appreciate the topics and encouragement this book has offered.  There have been several examples that I can relate to and there have been several ideas that I had never thought of at all, but it all makes such perfect sense.  For example, when you discuss your change in spirit while you weren't painting it helped me to recognize that I too experience such changes.  I know that there have been times that I have felt guilty about making time for my scrapbooking, cooking, crafts, etc. so I have tried to ignore the urges to work on such things and instead use the time to serve my family, etc.  As I read, I realize that when I don't make time for these activities not only does my countenance change but I simply feel less productive as a person.  Creating something, whether a new cookie recipe, hand painted glassware or even just painting the living room a new color gives me a sense of accomplishment that few other tasks do.  I have to stop thinking of it as a silly hobby and more like an important part of my spiritual "healthcare".

I also am impressed with how well the book flows.  I think that you have the perfect amount of scriptural references and give proper credit to the Lord for our talents.  Some times it feels like Christian authors walk on eggshells in order to appeal to people of other faiths along with their own.     Traci ~ Canisteo, NY
